Perbedaan Hari Raya Galungan dan Kuningan

Hari Raya Galungan merupakan perayaan suci umat Hindu yang bertujuan untuk menyatukan kekuatan rohani agar memperoleh ketenangan pikiran. Galungan dirayakan setiap hari Rabu pada wuku Dungulan.

Kata 'Galungan' berasal dari bahasa Jawa Kuno yang berarti 'Bertarung'. Dalam istilah lain, Galungan juga disebut 'Dungulan', yang berarti 'Menang'. Perbedaannya hanya terletak pada penyebutan, yaitu Wuku Galungan di Jawa dan Wuku Dungulan di Bali, tetapi keduanya memiliki arti yang sama sebagai wuku kesebelas.

Sementara itu, Hari Raya Kuningan merupakan perayaan suci umat Hindu untuk memohon keselamatan, perlindungan, dan bimbingan baik lahir maupun batin dari Dewa, Bhatara, serta leluhur. Juga dikenal sebagai Tumpek Kuningan, perayaan ini jatuh setiap hari Sabtu pada wuku Kuningan.
