TIMESINDONESIA – Batik has been added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2009. To support this the local community has tried to do their best to conserve this heritage. Just like what Batik Aruny of Madiun did.
Batik Aruny has such a nice motifs and colors. It was made manually with chanting and melted candle as the ink. Eny Mujayanah, the owner of Batik Aruny said the idea to produce Batik was coming after she joined some workshop.
She learned on how to make a pattern, drawing with cthe pen or chanting, erase it when there were mistakes, colouring, celiningnit with water glass and boiling the Batik in conventional way.
