Game garapan Naughty Dog ini sukses mengungguli judul populer lainnya seperti Animal Crossing dan Ghost of Tsushima dalam perebutan Game of The Year.
The Last of Us Part II juga memenangkan kategori Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, Innovation in Accessibility, Best Action/Adventur Game.
Tak berhenti di situ, Laura Bailey yang memerankan Abby di game eksklusif PlayStation ini juga sukses merebut Best Performance mengalahkan rekannya, Ashley Johnson sebagai Ellie di game yang sama.
Ghost of Tsushima juga ikut memperkuat kesuksesan game eksklusif PlayStation dalam ajang The Game Awards 2020. Karena game garapan Sucker Punch ini juga memenangkan sejumlah kategori.
Sebelumnya, Ghost of Tsushima telah diumumkan sebagai pemenang kategori Player's Voice. Kategori yang khusus dari voting para gamer secara online.
Game bertema Jepang masa feodal ini juga berhasil memenangkan kategori Best Art Direction, bersaing melawan Hades dan Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
