Band Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) baru saja mendapatkan penghormatan namanya diabadikan di Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Menjadi bagian dari Hollywood Walk of Fame membuat Flea dan Anthony Kiedis merasa sangat sentimental. Bukan tanpa sebab, hal ini lantaran mereka pernah menjadi seorang “Hollywood Street Kid”. Pada usia 15 tahun, keduanya sering berlarian saat malam hari dan menghabiskan waktu bersama di Hollywood.
Band Punk Rock asal California ini akan menerima bintang dengan nomor urut 2.717 di Walk of Fame. Nama Red Hot Chili Peppers akan ditempatkan di baris kedua di 6212 Hollywood Boulevard dan bersebelahan dengan Amoeba Records di sisi selatan jalan, serta di sebelah bintang produser TV Harry Friedman.
Band ini juga belum lama mengumumkan album baru mereka yang bertajuk Unlimited Love dengan lagu utama Black Summer. Red Hot Chili Peppers merupakan band yang bertahan lama kendati kerap berganti personel. Menurut Kiedis sang vokalis, band bukanlah cerita individu namun soal persatuan. [Suara.com/Alfian Winanto]
